SWOP'S IDEA OF A "MEETING" FOR SEX WORKERS

For those of you "old timers" in this community, you will remember that I've had a long term relationship in the past with both Sex Workers Outreach Project, otherwise known as SWOP, as well as Tits & Sass the blog.

Why?  Because SWA wasn't designed to get people out of the sex industry.   We were designed to help people get out who needed help to do so and couldn't get it from traditional sources like calling the police for help.  We were also designed to provide "alternative sentencing" for victims of sex trafficking who were being convicted as criminals - so they could come to our meetings instead of being forced into a jail term because of mandatory incarceration laws.  Remember, American women didn't have federal recognition they could even BE a "victim" until the Trafficking Act of 2000.  Up until then you were viewed only, and totally, as a "criminal" by our legal system.

Our hotline and program was instead designed for women like those who were being forced to work for DEA agents who owned a strip club in New Jersey.  I ask you - who do they call for help if they're being raped, trafficked, pimped, exploited, or otherwise abused by men with badges?

Especially when back in the 1980's THEY are the ones viewed as "criminals" by the legal system - NOT the DEA agents.  There was a presumption that anyone who is a stripper is a "criminal" whereas when it comes to a cop, FBI agent, or DEA agent you then have the presumption they're not.  It slants the playing field for every minute prostitution is illegal in this country.  http://nypost.com/2015/05/20/dea-agents-secretly-owned-strip-club-with-illegal-immigrant-dancers-feds/

I myself was in that situation where I was being forced to do things illegal and dangerous I didn't want to do by men who were CIA, FBI, DEA, and also local cops in LAPD.  Some of those cases became the infamous RAMPART cases.  Others like mine were such I knew I'd never make it alive to testify in a court room so I instead created a "safe house".  It was I later learned the first safe house for adults in this country for what is now called "sex trafficking victims".  You can read about it at www.hightechmadam.com

So, how would I know if someone needed help?  They're going to call me for help?  HOW?  Again, take a look at the situation of these women being trafficked and exploited by those DEA agents in New Jersey.  Can they call me for help with the language barrier?  How would they know they could call our hotline for help?  The owners of the club are going to tell them?

They're kept isolated in lives where they're supervised 24/7, being shuttled from home to the club daily.  I've got an interview from a victim like this who talks about how it took her a year just to get her traffickers to trust her enough to go to the store by herself at www.leavingtheliferadio.com

Meaning to me I think the whole premise of the Polaris National Trafficking Hotline is like a government "oxymoron" like "government intelligence".  I ask you how does a victim "call herself" for help when she's going to be under constant surveillance by her traffickers or pimp?  I know I didn't have any privacy when I was in that situation.

SO for years I relied upon phone calls from people in the community who knew I wasn't going to involve the police UNLESS that's what they wanted.  Referrals to us of sex workers who needed help of some kind used to come from sources in other words like SWOP or even the Tits & Sass blog, The Erotic Review, Redbook, Rentboy, and other such sites and people who have now all been busted and otherwise shut down.

EXCEPT SWOP who is flourishing AFTER their founder, Robin, died in 2012 for some reason.  http://www.nswp.org/timeline/event/death-robin-few

Usually groups die when their founder does.  I mean look at Gabriella's work in Columbia as a case in point.  Since she died of cancer, everything started dying off in her group/work. http://www.akissforgabriela.com/?page_id=2742

But SWOP has been growing, flourishing, and for some strange reason chasing anyone who is a friend of mine, or has anything positive to say about SWA or myself right on out of their group and social media.

In fact, after Robin died, they at one point were even offering grants of $500 to "organize a chapter".  If you were verified as a sex worker by another sex worker, they were giving out $500 to cover things like refreshments for you to organize a local chapter of sex workers.   This was so you'd invite out local sex workers to come out for coffee, meet and greet, and get to know each other.  I was floored.  I mean let's all be bank robbers and put up an announcement on social media "hey the meeting of bank robbers is happening this weekend - come on down".

I still can't believe my eyes here what I'm seeing.  I moved to Las Vegas in 1996.  So I have lived in Las Vegas since 1996.  I'm a recovering addict so I'm "in the rooms" all the time in this town.  Anyone coming into recovery who is also a sex worker is usually told by anyone with any time in the rooms "you need to go talk to Jody".

Why?  Because they know I run Sex Workers Anonymous and I've been clean since 1985.  They also know I sponsor a lot of men and women in this town who get, and stay, clean.  So many that I have a weekly meeting of just my sponsees where we get together and work on our step work.

So I got to tell you when I started hearing about THIS - I was wondering "wtf?"

Mind you when it comes to "recovery from addiction" for sex workers - I get referrals from the local mental health center, social workers, the local treatment centers, local therapists, and other old timers in other 12 step programs, and the list goes on in Las Vegas of the referrals I get.  By the way, no I don't get referrals from people who are trying to stay clean while STILL working in the sex industry.

Why?  BECAUSE IT DOESN'T WORK.  Not during early recovery it doesn't.  You take someone with a week or month clean or sober and you put them in the industry and no they're not going to stay clean.  I won't engage in "insanity" when I know you can take a delicate "newcomer" and expect them to stay clean while undergoing the stresses related to the sex industry.

Is that the "sex industry" only?  No it's not.  But if my sponsees, or people I work with in early sobriety, weren't getting, and staying, clean then I would understand the need for this meeting.  The thing is - I haven't even HEARD anything about this "meeting' in the rooms.  In fact, I don't know of one single "old timer" connected to some meeting on Saturday's for sex workers to "focus on their recovery".

So I"m curious.  What's going on?  Who is running the meeting?  Why haven't I heard anything about this in the rooms of AA or NA?  Why didn't someone let me know about it so I could support the meeting?  I run a hotline based out of Las Vegas so if there's a recovery meeting going on in town then I need to know about it to provide referrals properly.

For these reasons, I reached out to the person holding the meeting to find out more.  I was then BLASTED with an attack back.  Threatened, insulted, lied to, not exactly very "recovering" way of acting towards another recovering addict mind you.  So I got even more curious, especially when they tried to lie to me and say that posting the address, date and time of this meeting was "not a public notice" because it was "on social media".  Especially when everyone knows the courts have now ruled that something like Twitter IS "public".

So I went to Google maps to see what this address was and look at this:

I would NEVER EVER hold a meeting labeled for "sex workers" at such a location and I'll tell you why.  Notice how you can see the license plates on every car in that parking lot for one thing.  For another, you can see anyone getting out of their car and going into that building clearly while standing on another public street.  Meaning you can be standing there as long as you want watching that building from a public street and not even a cop can come and move you off that property.  Even if you're standing there with a camera taking pictures.

I also would never label a meeting for "sex workers" either because in the eyes of the law it's the same as saying "bank robbers".  In other words, it is "probable cause" for law enforcement to get a warrant to surveille this meeting for information on criminal activities.  For another, for someone involved in illegal activities to host a meeting with another person in criminal activities under the law it's considered a "conspiracy".  Under the Patriot Act, it's illegal for members of an illegal activity to get together to talk about that activity by itself.

I know this because in the 1950's addicts going to Narcotics Anonymous meetings used to get arrested for going to meetings.  Special laws had to be written to stop that which are on the books.  But the law states you are allowed to go to a 12 step PROGRAM, not a meeting, but a PROGRAM, and have the cops leave you alone.  If you look at the announcement for this meeting - it's an SWOP meeting if anything.  It's not a separate, distinct, "program".  All the more reason this meeting is not exempt from a search warrant, surveillance, or even being considered as being a meeting where people are "conspiring" which doesn't require any physical evidence of anything illegal for the people at this meeting to be arrested.

THIS meeting is A COP'S WET DREAM.  Especially in Nevada now that AB67 has passed allowing the cops to videotape and surveille any thing that they "believe might involve sex trafficking".  The meeting was announced in a public forum, Twitter.  Plus you can watch the meeting, and who comes to this meeting, from a public street, even taking photographs.  No one can tell you that you can't stand on a public street and take photos.

The courts when it comes to "confidentiality" are very clear that anything in the "public view" can be videotaped without the parties consent.  ESPECIALLY in Nevada where it's only a "one party"  needed consent to record anything.

Meaning in 1000 years I would NEVER EVER host a Sex Workers Anonymous meeting, or even a meeting of my sponsees at any meeting set up like this one is.  I wouldn't be up at 10 am on a Saturday evening nor do I know anyone in the sex industry, or even retired from the industry, who would be up and around on a Saturday morning.  Telling me whoever put this together can't possibly be someone who used to be in the sex industry, or even is, who is in recovery and clean.  No recovering addict who used to be, or is in, sex work would have a Saturday morning meeting.

Especially since most sex workers I know in Vegas have kids.  I'm not going to say where we have our meetings, but I've had to make accommodations for everyone's kids at our SWA meetings.  My daughter has grown up knowing "her job" is to entertain the other sex workers' kids so the moms can talk freely.  I don't even see any type of place where the kids can go and keep themselves busy.  Another reason why I usually have our meetings either when the kids are in school, or after they go to bed.  If I don't, then I have to hold the meetings at places like Chuckie Cheese so the kids can play while the mom's talk.

This whole thing illustrates why anything involving a certain community should INVOLVE that community.  I have quite a few "sponsees" in Nevada and I can assure you there's no way any of us would be getting up at 10 am on a Saturday morning for one thing.  For another, the place isn't set up to help us watch our kids, nor at a good time where the kids are in school.  Most of them are working Friday or Saturday, and their husband's are home on Saturday's also.  It's why I don't host any SWA meetings of our program on a Saturday anyway.  Haven't in over 20 years.

I asked around the local "old timers" in AA and NA and they don't know anything about this meeting.  The person behind it told me that I was only curious because I wanted to "be relevant" which is insane being I asked because I'm in recovery and I need to know about meetings for the purpose of our hotline.  They also tried to deny this meeting is one that's too "public" in my opinion to host sex workers in recovery.

Let me tell you about REAL sex workers.  If some people even find out you're in porn, stripping, let alone prostitution - you're liable to get Child Protective Services at your door wanting to take your kids.  Were you arrested for anything?  No.  Doesn't matter.  The current systems in this country view a sex worker as an "unfit' mother.  Men are suing for custody over this constantly on that ground and winning.  I see CPS taking kids right and left from our members who aren't doing anything even illegal.

You don't know how the neighbors will act.  Just KNOWING WHERE YOU LIVE can be dangerous, ESPECIALLY IN LAS VEGAS.  https://downtrend.com/vsaxena/cytherea-raped-by-gang-of-teen-thugs

I know of a woman who took a cab home one night from working as a stripper.  The cab driver then swung back around after work, broke into her home and then RAPED  her.  If she had not had a gun in the house who knows what the guy would have done to her.

Look at the way the public reacting with War Machine attacked Kristy Mack who resides in Vegas.  I have watched as 1/2 of her social media attacked her after that attack, and I have watched HORRIFIED as Jon's attorney went after her like she caused that attack.  A treatment I don't think she would be being subjected to if she was a secretary or a cashier somewhere.

REAL SEX WORKERS know there are DANGERS in just anyone knowing who you are, where you are, and especially to match a photo of you with your license plate and car make and model.  Anyone can run those plates and maybe even find out where you live.  Unlike California, Nevada requires you to list a home address on your plates and doesn't give you the legal right to protect that information in case you have stalkers.

So who in their RIGHT MIND would put something out on social media saying "hey boys the hookers who are also coming off drugs are going to be at this address at this time come on down"?

Certainly not anyone who has our protection and best interests at heart.  I know I go to a lot of trouble to find locations for our SWA meetings.  I have to scout for places where parking is "off street" and can't be seen from the street for reasons this meeting illustrates here.  I have to find ways to make it NOT apparent or obvious they're coming to our meeting like how for years I had one of our meetings in a public library.  This way if anyone was being followed it appeared they were just going to the library for a book.

PLEASE if you are in sex work, or used to be, and you're wanting to connect to others who are clean and sober - please contact www.sexworkersanonymous.com  We'll protect your anonymity and I have PLENTY of numbers of old timers all over the country who are there just to help you with your recovery who are more than happy to talk to you, work with you, and to do so where you are PROTECTED from any thing where you could be recorded, that information used against you, or who knows what's going on with this "data mining".

Look - I was approached in Las Vegas by a vice detective back in 2007.  He offered me a substantial amount of money if I would become an "informant" about the types of calls we get in SWA, as well as tell them about what and who we're working with in Nevada.  I refused that offer.

So trust me - information on who you are means money to some people.  Clearly someone is also trying to make sure they control your environment also if they're hosting a 12 step meeting about recovery when none of the old timers in this town know anything about this meeting.

PLUS I'M ONE.  I am not only an ex-sex worker, with lots of friends still in the industry, working with our kind daily, but I'm also in recovery for years now and I reach out to these people and they ATTACK ME?  Threaten me with legal action and lawyers?  INSULT ME?  Okay if this is for real - that's the kind of recovery you want?

By the way, if you think there aren't people trying to identify personal information on people who are sex workers - think again.

Here's an article about how Twitter was served with a legal demand to give them personal information on an account holder for no valid legal reason other than just being pissed off - https://www.aclu.org/blog/speak-freely/government-goes-after-critic-twitter-remembers-constitution-just-time

Do you think it's safe to be completely entirely open about being involved in sex work in some fashion?  Catch this article - http://www.africanindy.com/features/phones-protect-ugandas-sex-workers-from-police-harassment-5570964

If you need help and want to get it SAFELY - please call us first.  We know of many resources and people who are SAFE.

As for "Tits & Sass" - someone came in and took over their site about two years ago, white washed every single comment by me or SWA, about me and SWA, and made it appear for some reason we don't even exist.  I ask you, how can that be a "sex worker community" forum when someone who has been a part of this community for over 30 years, has answered over 500,000 calls from sex workers on our hotline over that time, is "white washed" entirely off their site?  If I'm treated that way - then how much do they care about ALL of our voices?  Clearly it's only the ones they APPROVE of.

HOW THIS WAR IS FOUGHT

When looking into past civil rights movements - one where you can really see how our American system works is how Martin Luther King was opposed.  How much effort went into one man is mind boggling.  What's even more mind boggling is how did he ever accomplish anything with all this opposition?

Read this article so you understand their tactics - http://thefreethoughtproject.com/fbi-memphis-polices-admitted-involvement-assassination-mlk/

First, they had a photographer following him around that MLK thought was a "trusted friend" who in reality was an informant working against him.

Second, they "attacked his marriage".  If anyone remembers, Julian Assange had a woman come on to him sexually and then cry "rape".  How convenient for the people trying to shut him up.  http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-11949341  I'm sorry but statistically very intelligent people aren't rapists.  Rape is about control and intelligent people know 1000 other ways to control and dominate someone without resorting to sex or violence.

Third, they "tried to get him to commit suicide".  They sent tapes of his affairs and threatened to expose them to the public that he was just human after all.  It was only when he refused to kill himself, that they then resorted to assassination.

Fourth, take a good look at this group "The Invaders" spoken of.

"According to the House Select Committee on Assassinations, a black civil rights group named the Invaders sabotaged the March 28 demonstration by distributing hundreds of two by two sticks attached to placards into the hands of impressionable black children caught breaking store windows. The Invaders allegedly incited violence which MLK was opposing."

This group, the "Invaders" claimed to be a group in support of the movement but in reality were being used to try and discredit MLK.

We are in a "civil rights movement" of another sort today - that which is affecting members of the sex industry.  We are being treated as less than human.  By being called "criminals" and now even "sex offenders", the government justifies all kinds of injustice against us.

People don't use effective tactics and then just give up on them.  This shows the tactic of a fake group being set up to supposedly be about something while in reality taking it down.  Now ask yourself - who would be such a group today claiming to want to help sex workers?

I have been approached by "fake" photographers before.  Including this woman who claimed she was coming all the way from Finland to supposed do a whole art piece on sex trafficking survivors.  Only when she showed up at the meeting I insisted upon before allowing her to photograph any SWA members - she showed up without a camera.  REAL photojournalists don't go anywhere without their camera's!

I handed her my camera and asked her to show me how to use it.  It was painfully clear she didn't know how to use a camera.  Strange I thought since she'd sent me a copy of her portfolio.  Only when I went home I put the images into Google Search.  It turned out her portfolio had been purchased from stock photo sites.  I called the magazine she said she was working for and the editor said she had "volunteered to be an intern there but hadn't submitted any work yet".  Not hard then to get that reference set up.

Here was a man following MLK around claiming to be someone "documenting the history" who was in reality an informant.  What better way to get photos sent back to the FBI and Cointelpro than right out in the open?

Which explains some of these documentary workers who keep calling up wanting to do a "reality show" about our work.  It's why I've always turned them down also.  I remember watching an interview with Michael Jackson once where the guy made him appear to be a nutjob.  Only Michael had been running his camera's too at the same time.  When I saw the UNEDITED version from Michael's camera - it was a whole other story.  So Michael wasn't being paranoid after all - he was well aware of how the media can be used against you if you're not careful.

The most important thing to learn from this is that those opposing the civil rights movement focused most of their efforts onto discrediting one person - MLK.  They took his human failings and used that to stop people from organizing behind him.  He was HUMAN.  Not a God.  An only an imperfect human being would see that as African American's they weren't being treated like humans.  Those who stood behind MLK knew it wasn't about MLK - it was about THEM.

Now look around and ask yourself - who could be that fake group today claiming to be about helping sex workers while in reality selling them out?

Who today is attacking someone in this movement for their human failings?

Learn from history!

TOLD YOU

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/alison-bass/aclu-joins-historic-case_b_12488532.html

Here is an article in the Huffington Post confirming the lawsuit filed by Maxine Doogan was DISMISSED.

JUST AS I PREDICTED.

The complaint wasn't written with one leg to stand on.  Not if the intent was to decriminalize prostitution as she's claiming the lawsuit was intended when she was out fund raising and garnering support from sex workers who don't have 30 years of experience with the legal system as I do (I've been working as a paralegal for 30 years since I left sex work).

Which is why when I first read the lawsuit, and knew it would be dismissed, I reached out to Maxine offering her support to modify the complaint to something I thought would have a better shot at winning the stated race of trying to get prostitution decriminalized.

Only to find myself rebuffed, even threatened to "back off".

So I contacted her attorney's directly thinking maybe Maxine just didn't understand the legal jargon I was throwing at her.  I thought maybe her lawyers might understand more of the legal problems I saw with the lawsuit, and thus might be more willing to discuss ways to amend the complaint so they'd have at least a shot at not being dismissed at the gate.

Only to have her attorney's not want to talk to me about the case - even to discuss possible legal options based on the experience of not only a paralegal with 30 years experience, but also someone who has been looking at legal options, and following legal cases, quite closely for over 30 years also.  I mean I've had not only my legal case I was involved with in the 1980's, but I've also been involved in many of the legal cases, and lawsuits, our members have been involved with as well as their legal strategies.  Strategies which included what Jeane Palfrey was intending to bring about by refusing to take a plea bargain in her case even.

If you remember, in Jeane's case she was arguing she could not be held responsible for her escorts being prostitutes being she had them sign contracts with her they would not be engaging in prostitution.  The court struck down this defense so she went with option B - which was how could she be held responsible for her actions as a madam when it was in fact our own government who was the one forcing her to act as such under threat of arresting her when she refused?  When in fact she was arrested when she refused as evidenced by her arrest at the airport when she was attempting to flee the country - certainly not acting as a madam when she was at the airport because she had told her CIA contact she was no longer willing to engage in these covert actions they were involving her in.  But of course she never got that far before her supposed suicide.  She had a "leg to stand on" legally in her case - but then again that's probably why she got whacked.

Anyway, this is when I realized this case wasn't about what they were claiming it was about because any first year law student, as well as any paralegal, could see this case wouldn't be anything BUT dismissed.  A fact all the more established as true when neither Maxine nor her attorney's would speak to me about the holes in the case.

And when I realized Maxine was not on "our" side as she's claiming either.  This is when I started digging and uncovered the strange little fact that both Maxine as the plaintiff, as well as the four prosecutors she was suing as the defendants, had BOTH received money from Swanee Hunt.  Meaning maybe they weren't "adversaries" either as appeared on the surface.  Certainly would explain why she only filed the lawsuit against four prosecutors - instead of the state prosecutor's office, or even that of just San Francisco for that matter (the same four who had received Hunt grant money in other words).

Which is why I predicted the case would be dismissed.  It wasn't written with one legal leg to stand on to have prostitution overturned as a criminal activity - something she has been touting it was filed with the intent to do while fund raising and garnering support from the sex industry.

Oh and if you're not sure who Nancy O'Malley is nor why Alison Bass failed to mention anything about her in this article - she's the prosecutor who is involved in the Oakland sex scandal who announced just in time for the election she's decided to prosecute seven of the police officers accused of having sex with Celeste Guap.  Of course since I've seen cops who have done horrific acts of brutality against people like in the Rodney King case not held accountable even with the videotape he had on his side - well excuse me if I don't hold my breath here about anything really happening to these cops.  Especially since the cases would hinge completely on Celeste's testimony.  What with her mother being a 911 operator - I have a strange feeling we're not going to be hearing much testimony coming out of her against cops.

Nancy also received $80,000 of money from Swanee Hunt for one.  She's also the same prosecutor in Alameda County who stepped up for some strange reason inbetween our organization and Celeste Guap.  Leading to Celeste being driven courtesy of the police in her hometown to a treatment center in Florida where she was then somehow involved in a criminal charge of assault between her and a GUARD in this treatment program.  Now I've been around the recovery community for also over 30 years and I have never heard of a client being drug off by the police for assault on a "uniformed guard" as supposedly was the person she was charged with assaulting.  Nor have I ever heard of someone being held on a $300,0000 bail either - very convenient way if you ask me to shut her up from talking to the press.

In fact, it reminds me very much of when I was slapped with a $50,000 bail in 1984 to stop me from correcting the press when I was arrested into explaining that the "brothel" I was being accused of running was actually a "safe house".  That the woman I was being charged with "pimping" out of this warehouse was there recuperating from her pimp's assault which had broken her arm, her nose and blacked both of her eyes.  I'd sure like to know how in the hell I'd be "pimping" a woman with a cast on her arm, a brace on her nose and two black eyes like she'd been in a heavyweight fight!  But hey my bail being so high gave the police who set up the arrest two weeks to blast me all over the media as being the "High Tech Madam".  Hell they even got to tell the press that all of that security I had on the place was to help me "operate my prostitution business".  Yeah right that's why I set the place up next to the police station?  You can see what I mean at www.hightechmadam.com where my arrest clippings are placed.

Meaning I'm well aware of how the media is manipulated to cover up our side of the story about what's really going on.  Just as I didn't buy for one minute Maxine filed that lawsuit "on behalf of decriminalizing prostitution for sex workers".  I've been trying to get prostitution decriminalized for 30 years and this was not a tactic that stood once chance.  Again, if this was about what she said it was about, and being made up to be about in the press, then my call to help her win that lawsuit where I was bringing her 30 years of legal strategy to the table, would have been welcomed with open arms.

Media which for some reasons seems to be focusing a lot on a case even a paralegal could tell you would have been dismissed.  But then again the publicity sure didn't harm Maxine's fund raising campaign, nor the sale of Alison Bass' book I imagine.

Anyway, I was proven correct when this case was dismissed SADLY.

Shame really when all of that support could have been translated into something which would have worked to decriminalize prostitution.  But then again I realize now this wasn't it's real intent.  So mark my words here again when I say this appeal is more propaganda

I'm still trying to figure out how all of these groups listed in the Brief are listed in this Brief being they weren't plaintiff's in the original action, nor do I see them filing papers to become joined as plaintiff's in this action.  Why is this important?  Because if the case were heard, and lost, with the loser being liable for court costs, and even possibly a punitive penalty of some kind for say having wasted the courts time maybe - then they don't really have any legal say in the matter.

I mean where were these people in the original lawsuit but now they're listed in the Brief on the appeal?  Not from any legal standpoint I can see but as evidenced by the publicity they've received thanks to writers such as Alison Bass - it's great publicity.   I'm going to be looking over all of the papers in this case in more detail over the weekend because I've never ever seen an appeal brief filed by people who are not parties to the action.  So I'm kind of scratching my head here on that point.

But for now I'm afraid the content of the Brief just doesn't hold up to scrutiny of any kind.

What I mean by that is let me ask you something - if all of the juvenile arrests in California were stopped as of 2015 as part of the "No Such Thing" campaign, dropping juvenile arrests for prostitution down to ZERO - then how on earth can this Brief be claiming that "juveniles are being targeted for arrest"?

Can someone please explain that to me?  http://esplerp.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/22-Brief-of-American-Civil-Liberties-Union-Foundation1.pdf

By using 2014 arrest figures is how.  Convenient to cite arrests which are no longer the case in this Brief.  I say that because California stopped arresting ANY juvenile for prostitution in 2015.  So by quoting 2014 statistics - yes you can make it appear to be disproportionate - but it's no longer the case however in 2016 nor the foreseeable future either.

As to why "LGBT youth are detained twice as much as straight youth for detention" how about the fact that one can only be tested for HIV/AIDS if convicted of prostitution, which doesn't happen unless detained?  I'm sure the fact that more LGBT youth are now infected with the HIV/AID virus, in fact we're now in an epidemic according to many statistics, has more to do with the concern over them possibly spreading the virus than that of a heterosexual youth right?  That maybe these "detentions" were more for the sake of getting them tested for HIV/AID than of this being about prostitution or them even being LGBT.  But of course pointless at all now NO  juveniles are being arrested, or at least convicted, now of prostitution charges period since the 2015 "No Such Thing" campaign.

In fact, explain something else to me.  Money for services for those infected with HIV/AIDS is determined by the numbers of those showing up as infected.  Now to make a porn movie on a licensed set - you have to show you've recently been tested for the virus.  This makes of course the numbers for those infected with the virus who are in the porn industry fairly easy to track as well as relatively low since they use protection most of the time.

However, I have gone into strip clubs and massage parlors here in Los Angeles, and Las Vegas.  Both establishments where I've seen illegal prostitution going on right in the premises.  In fact, one strip club in the san Fernando valley is so sleazy they have back rooms sectioned off from the stage area with sheets where the "dancers" are going in to the "back" rooms several times in one hour's time.  I've spoken to dancers who are over 18 in California, but between 16 to 18 years of age in Nevada (where the legal age of consent for sex in Nevada is 15 years old mind you and yes there are strip clubs who hire 16 year olds to work there but just don't serve alcohol when they're on stage).  Not only have the women employed in these establishments told me they have never been arrested for prostitution since no stings happen inside of these types of businesses (when have you last heard of a prostitution sting happening in a strip club or massage parlor in these two states recently?), but they further report not having ever received any type of HIV/AIDS education, nor are they tested for the virus as part of their job requirement.  In fact, I asked these same women if they've ever had an HIV/AIDS test and they all looked at me like my Pomeranian does when I say something he doesn't understand.  In other words, no.

So if we are not testing sex workers who are the most likely to be infected with HIV/AIDS as much as we did before when they were being arrested more, thus tested more, and tested with results that would be reported as such as being from a sex worker, not protected from this reporting under private HPPA laws,  then this lower reporting of sex workers having HIV/AIDS would thus translate into lower services being funded for sex workers with the virus - so I ask you how is this helping them?

Now, on the reverse side of this equation, how many strip clubs and massage parlors do you know of who hire the transgender or an LGBT person?   Statistically, while there are transgender strippers I assure you they are outnumbered at least 20 to1 from what I've seen by heterosexual, or at least heterosexual "appearing" natural born females.  Why?  Market demand.

But from what I've seen the police have been laying off any type of "legal" sex industry operation - strip clubs, massage parlors, Nevada legal brothels, webcam studios, porn sets, etc., and focusing more on the street walking faction of the sex industry.

One where there are proportionately more transgenders and the LGBT community who are not being hired by these establishments - so therefore wouldn't that be one of the reasons why arrests might be appearing to be targeting them more?  I mean if I'm wrong - take a look at the catalog of women working at the Bunny Ranch owned by Dennis Hof who owns something like 7 of them I think at last count.  Do you see many transgenders or those who say they're LGBT in their description here?  http://www.bunnyranch.com/

Now take a look at movies like "Tangerine" and tell me if you see any women out there on Hollywood Boulevard working the streets who look like the women at the Bunny Ranch?

So if there are more of this community out on the streets where the police are operating than that of the heterosexual females employed by all these other "off the street" industries - than is the discrimination here the fault of law enforcement, or that of the sex industry itself that's putting them out there in the first place?

Either way, this appeal is just more press and more fund raising.  It has NOTHING to do with helping those who are being targeted by law enforcement for arrest as prostitutes to get prostitution decriminalized.

Not one damn thing.

LETTER TO BILLY JACK'S SURVIVORS

Of course my luck is that the day the "light goes on" with me with respect to some of the concepts Tom was trying to raise awareness about - I learn he passed away two years ago.

So I'm writing to the survivors.  My name is Jody Williams.  Back in the 1980's, I was a young MENSA  member who graduated high school at 15 years of age because of a high IQ.  I enrolled in community college to prepare my way for the university, but I needed to get a job after my father robbed my college fund.

I got a job at a nightclub owned by the family who are part of the generational line connected to Richard Pryor of drug dealers, pimps and prostitutes . He's spoken openly about his grandmother running the brothel his mother worked in.  They needed a way to launder money and this was the club I walked into looking for a job in 1979.

I was "turned out" by this family of pimps into the sex industry.  However, after watching this "family" tore apart by the cocaine epidemic, I asked the head of the "family" to buy my way out safely.  I'd seen what they did to those who tried to leave on their own.  They agreed and I was now an "independent" in the industry.

Word spread on the streets and this is when the REAL predators came to prey upon me - the LAPD and the CIA.  They were working together in what we now know as Iran Contra.  The corrupt police officers who were part of flooding this country with cocaine, all while blaming the African American community for this scourge, also ran a sex trafficking ring.  They supplied drugs and prostitutes to the wealthy elite of Hollywood - knowing the film industry affects the way the people of the world think.  They also needed pretty prostitutes to carry the drugs from the projects into the homes and hotels of Bel Air, Beverly Hills, etc.,  Which is why all of us "madams" such as myself, Alex Adams, and Cheri Woods were called upon to be part of this agenda.

We all went along as we were making money.  But when we were asked to supply them with women who had no "family" to ask questions about their disappearance to be sold to Saudi oil men, and drug dealers, who liked "white women" and wanted to collect them like Scarface collected white tigers - we balked.  This is why you can read how all of the top madams in the country, including Sydney Biddle Barrow, the Mayflower Madam, were all arrested in 1984.

Our faces and names were spread all over the media to make sure we couldn't not only not get a 9 to 5 job outside of the sex industry, but to further scare away all of our "regulars" who didn't want to risk any of the press coming on to expose them.  They confiscated all of our money and property, all while threatening us with other criminal charges.  The point was to make us more "hungry" and thus more "compliant".

Movie and book contracts were offered to each of us to further ensure that "their" version of our stories were what went out to the press.  I was the only one of the bunch who insisted I would not allow propaganda to go out which wasn't revealing the "whole truth" about the sex industry, and what is now been defined by the term "sex trafficking".  I was then reminded I had signed a contract preventing me from speaking to the press without their consent.  In other words, I was being silenced legally in the form of a book and film option contract.  Clever.

Victims of this had no way out.  They couldn't call the police obviously for help as they were part of the problem.  Shelters weren't set up to protect us from the very systems funding their programs - who would then hand us over to them in two seconds if asked.  Their funding depended upon not "rocking the boat".  So I took an old warehouse I had once used as a brothel and created what I later learned was the first "safe house" for adults in this country.  I say "adults" because only one for juveniles had been created in 1979 by Lois Lee.  Since most of the people I saw being targeted by these predators were over 18 - we had a different issue which had to be addressed.

The next thing I know I'm being set up and arrested for supposedly "running a brothel".  They gave me a $50,000 bail so the media could print what they wanted them to print and I couldn't come out and explain what was really going on by speaking for myself.  When I showed there was no evidence to support this charge - they arrested my mother.  When we fought her arrest - they threatened my 70 year old grandmother they knew wouldn't survive an arrest because of her age and frail health.  So I gave them their pound of flesh for two years.

Coming back when I was off probation in 1987 and launching the first hotline and 12 step program designed to stop criminalizing these victims to further silence and control them.  We were successful.  Our program "worked" not only at getting people out of the sex industry, rescuing them from sex trafficking operations, but also at coordinating the people to see the Trafficking Act of 2000 pass.

I thought we had achieved success.  Sex trafficking in America was now legally recognized.  Funds were going to be used to help these victims.  Our program had chapters meeting in every major city of the USA generating recovery.  In fact, if you look at any recognized survivor of sex trafficking in this country who went on to create their own local program to help prostitutes - they all came from our program.  For the first time in history, this community was recognized as people needing help - not as "criminals" or "whores".  We had achieved what Bill Wilson had when he not only created AA - but put into our consciousness alcoholism was a disease - not a crime as had been tried with Prohibition.

Jeane Palfrey was the first of us to have the black and white proof of how madams in this country were being sex trafficked not by pimps - but by our own government.  She released her "Black Book" to prove not only this was real, but also to show the connection between her and Randall Tobias - the man who swooped in with the TVRA of 2003 - and "hijacked" this movement right out from under us real survivors.

Something the author of the Trafficking Act of 2000 himself, Michael Horowitz, has confirmed this movement has now been "hijacked by people seeking money and power".  Which happen to be the sex traffickers themselves.  Just as how in the day of Al Capone and Prohibition - the only ones being arrested were those in "competition" with the mob, which also wasn't even being acknowledged as 'real" back then either.  The reason the mob wasn't being acknowledged as real was because then it would become clear the only ones being arrested were those not feeding this criminal enterprise which had it's very roots in our courts, law enforcement, politicians and the church.  People who all profited by Prohibition while the alcoholic was still suffering and exploited.

Sure the grip on the alcoholic was released, and placed upon the addict.  When the grip off the addict was released - now the "prostitute" became the "victim de jour" to now be simultaneously criminalized, exploited, and demonized.  Something happened in 2008 - this is when I saw something happening which confused me at first.  The people we had helped to exit and recover from the sex industry, whether trafficked or not, had gone out to start local programs to provide services and resources we couldn't as a 12 step program.

In 2009, I watched as one by one each one of these programs were disbanded.  I watched as the founders were either murdered, framed, slandered, blackmailed, or just plain threatened right out of the field.  I saw a woman with no criminal history framed and sent off to prison for five years without a fair trial who had set up the first alternative sentencing program in Nevada.  They claimed it was "elder abuse" so she got no early release, no time off for good behavior, no reprieve.

While REAL survivors were being silenced, I then saw the 'catfish" phony ones coming up out of the woodwork.  The Samoly Mam's, Rachel Moran's, Chong Kim, William Hilliar, Stella Marr - all completely funded by the same people who were being not only the hijacking of this movement, but further connected to the sex industry itself.  Why?

For the same things which happened in Columbia in the 1990's - the inmates were now running the asylum.  In the 1990's if you tried to call and report something you knew to the authorities against the drug Cartel - they had systems in place to intercept those calls.  The caller then was met with either threats, or just plain whacked, depending on how much they knew or how much evidence they had against the Cartel.  The courts were so afraid to step against the Cartel - "faceless justice" committees had to be set up to try and hold up some accountability against them for their crimes.  Not just with respect to drug sales - but for things which have the Columbia people terrified and controlled.  The Cartel not only owned the soccer teams, but even the country's pharmacies, just to give you an idea about how much power they had.

We were pushed out of the criminal justice system as an "alternative" to incarceration.  If you look at the time period of the late 1980's through the mid-1990's - you do not hear one story breaking loose in the media about corruption and prostitution and/or sex trafficking.  After being pushed out of the system however, we are now hearing about Joohon David Lee and now Celeste Guap.  Celeste was supposedly not only being "bought" by men in police uniform, even Chiefs of Police, but further tipped off to trafficking activities so she herself could remain trapped.

Her mother was a 911 operator.  I've got a nice long list now of names of people who have called our hotline because they had tried to report sex trafficking to these new, well funded, "anti-trafficking task forces".  Only to be responded to the same way those in Columbia were responded to when they tried to "do the right thing" and report crimes they'd witnessed.  Celeste's mother being a 911 operator shows a system in place I'd like to know how a crime can be properly reported when there's a woman there knowing her very daughter's life is at stake should things go south.

What happened to Celeste shows we've lost control.  I've been trying for a few years now on behalf of many victims just like her all over the country to get them help.  I'd like to know how they're supposed to stop being prostituted, when the people behind them are most of the police force, the sheriff's office, even again going up to men such as Joohon who is in Homeland Security, ICE, and the trafficking task forces?  A man who walks victims right past LAX security into this country on plane tickets bought by our own government.  Further, a man for who I've been told we STILL have no laws on the books to even charge this man with any crime other than "bribery" who is now driving a limo in Las Vegas as what the justice system says is "throwing the book" at him.

I've knocked on the doors of our Attorney General, Kamala Harris, as well as our prosecutor's office, who has included Jackie Lacey, and Nancy O'Malley, and the Chief of Police, Internal Affairs, even our governor's office saying I need to speak to them about what these victims are saying is happening to them, and what we're going to do to provide them with help.  When I first started our program, I used to be able to put many of the victims into drug treatment where the HIPPA laws used to protect them from being found by these traffickers and drug back or worse as we saw with what happened to Jeane Palfrey.

Only to be ignored.  When the situation reached the point where Celeste's story hit the media, instead of her being referred to our program who has dealt successfully with victims just like her for 30 years - the same people who refused to help now step in to say "they're handling it".  Celeste was then sent to a treatment program which took a woman who was being raped for years by men in uniform that had security guards on the floor.  Guards who then took a woman turning to them for help and drug her off to be charged with assault.  Further given a $300,000 bail for the sole reason of silencing her to the media, as well as I'm sure doing to her what was done to me when I was arrested in the same manner in 1984 - to make sure she keeps her mouth shut about everything she knows.

A woman who if you look on her social media is clearly still being used as a prostitute.  Is this by choice?  I'd like to know what "choice" is it when she's being blocked from even speaking to our organization by again the very people who are supposed to be helping her such as the prosecutor's office.  One who seems more interested in grandstanding for the upcoming election than in doing what is needed to help Celeste.  If Nancy O'Malley's interest was in helping Celeste - she would have turned her over to our program with a 30 year track record long before now.  No - she would have taken our calls three years ago when we called about her plight, and that of many women in this country right now just like her.

I have gone down the line of speaking to these people.  I talked to the Attorney General's office who told me they can't do anything if the police aren't willing to put together an investigation and arrest the criminals.  I went to the police who told me they can't do this when they're going to risk their lives to put together a case - only to see it not taken to court because the prosecutor's office won't file.  The prosecutor's office has told me they don't see a point in filing when they know the judges are all either bought off, or too scared, to charge these criminals. The judge's tell me there's no point in going against the criminals when they know they're only going to be released early by an over-crowded correctional system which is now mostly for profit in this country.

We used to be able to get the media to put pressure on the system to "do the right thing".  We last saw this happen with the Chris Butler case.  No one wanted to touch the guy - until the press exposed what he was doing.  THEN we saw the operation he was involved with exposed.  I'm not going to say shut down - because he was just replaced with someone else.  That is what "racketeering" laws are about - when the people within the system are just spokes on the wheel of a machine which keeps running no matter how many spokes are replaced.

Now we have another stack of reporters telling us they can't report on what's going on for one reason or another - either they're scared of winding up like Gary Webb did with his head shot off, or they don't want to wind up on the unemployment line only posting videos on youtube because no news agency will hire them.

Is it important?  A reporter was confronted recently about why tapes concerning Donald Trump, a man running for the highest seat of power in this country, were not released sooner.  The reporter honestly said it wasn't released because of the stranglehold on the media for who if he had - then not only would no one have not heard it anyway, but that he would then be completely banned from working within the media again because the company producing the segment was also the same company producing the show with Donald Trump.  So yes - when this is affecting what we know about people running for President of this country then it is a "big deal" when the media is being choked.

Noam Chomsky has said "propaganda is to a democracy what a gun is to a dictator".  Only we the public are the ones being fired upon here. Now I don't care how well Celeste is treated at this point - the system itself which created this situation is not being addressed.  It was not being addressed when I started knocking on these doors a few years ago, when I was going to reporters telling me they're being silenced, nor is it being addressed now for the sake of all the other victims of sex trafficking, and the related corruption.

If I'm being told by every office within our legal and political system there's nothing they can do on their own because of how the other offices aren't cooperating with them for one reason or another - then what is the solution?  At first I thought applying the racketeering laws might be an answer.  When I turned to Kamala Harris' office and pushed on her to do this - she announced she's "running for senate" and put up her donation site.  Okay that's not a solution.

Then I thought maybe if we set up our own "faceless justice committee" who could do their job without fearing their children, or grandchildren, would be slaughtered on the way to school for doing so.  Who look to Mexico where 44 students have disappeared not long ago and no one is doing anything about this either they've lost so much control after having Pablo Escobar sitting in their Congress.

Only modern surveillance technology has created the environment where what worked in the 1990's for Columbia won't work in a day and age where our phones are the same as tracking and surveillance devices.

So what is a solution here to a train that's gone off the rails to bring things back on track?  I prayed for insight and believe it or not - I looked up and was watching an old Billy Jack movie.  I couldn't believe what I was seeing - absolutely everything I'm seeing now was in this 1970's movie which he wrote and directed to show the corruption behind a nuclear plant being built where he was wanting to instead build a youth center to help troubled kids.

In this film, he was talking about a "national referendum" was the solution.  I had no idea what this was and in fact don't remember anyone in this country, not even Obama, saying this term.  I'd like to know more about it so I looked up Tom Laughlin's contact information just now - only to find out he's passed.

So I'm going to hope this reaches some survivors over there who would be willing to talk to me more about this subject.  I was a kid when this film came out and all I remember about Billy Jack was the martial arts, the cool song, and the way he reminded me of an American "Kung Fu" version of David Carradine.  But clearly the man was ahead of his time.  I could see that when reading how he had to book his films into theaters himself at first.

Tom was clearly ahead of his time.  But for now - he's "right on time" with this idea.  Please get in touch with me so I can learn more about what a "national referendum" is.  Building nuclear plants is one thing - but when we've reached the point where our children are being trafficked and there's nothing that can be done to stop it, to where when their plight comes out to the light THEY'RE  the ones arrested, held on a $300,000 bail, and having their face plastered all over the media INSTEAD of the men who preyed upon her, and her family, as well as many others, then we need to do something different.

Maybe this is it.  Thank you for listening.

PROP 57 OP-ED ESSAY

Here's the deal - we're being excluded as you know from the very system we created.

WE'RE the program who came to the courts FIRST in 1987 when NO ONE wanted to lift a finger to help us.  We're the ones who said first and without a fund raiser or a federal grant - "until you are going to decriminalize prostitution then the least you can do is court order them into our program in place of jail being that these are not criminals - but instead women feeding their children, junkies looking for a way to feed their habit who can't get into treatment because they're prostitutes, and also because victim services won't help them when raped, kidnapped, stalked and beaten because the system considers them as "criminals", women who can't get jobs because of porn of them appearing online alone with having a criminal record which means they can't deny the photos are in facts theirs, criminal records preventing them from obtaining work licenses such as to even sell real estate so they could manage an apartment building and get a free apartment, as well as women who are being forced into prostitution by their pimps, their mothers, and sometimes even the police.

Such was the case with me and such as the case with men such as David Butler, or even Joohon David Lee who was with Homeland Security, ICE, and even the trafficking task force of California and Nevada meaning he was literally flying women over from China, and then Korean, on government money, then walking them past airport security himself, putting them in Homeland Security vehicles, all while letting them know he could clearly find them anywhere in the world if he ran, and for who the law can't even charge him with the crime of sex trafficking because there is no law against what this man did to women.

Now until we fix this system the least that be done is to court order those found guilty of prostitution into our meetings instead of jail where we've routinely for 30 years now also helped them to shorten their probation, get an early release from custody, and expunge their records, along with providing them with free legal help, housing assistance, job hunting assistance, scholarship assistance, and emotional support from a "sponsor" or "mentor" who is also in recovery for years to be there for them as they walk through the process.  Something which was ROUTINELY being done for years, and for which multiple research projects found we were QUITE effective such as the 10 year study done by professor Sharon Oselin in "Leaving Prostitution" which ironically was done behind my back - but proved objectively our program "works".  Not only works, but in the long term as we were the only program out of the three she studied still operating once her research was over!

However, we can't be operating programs in connection with the courts, the probation and parole system, in connection with social services and mental health departments where anyone hearing about what victims like Celeste Guap is reporting who isn't someone on a county or government payroll can have their jobs threatened - when those running our meetings, and connecting to government and county agencies is being stalked, threatened, harassed, and intimidated into stopping these services to members as illustrated in this story here recently released to the press - http://orangecountyda.org/civica/press/display.asp?layout=2&Entry=4935

When we have police officers worried about what women like Celeste Guap http://www.eastbayexpress.com/oakland/celeste-guap-woman-at-center-of-oakland-police-sex-crime-scandal-arrested-in-florida/Content?oid=4959455  are saying in meetings to people who can't have their jobs on county payroll threatened because our group members are all "volunteer" and trying to not only cover up their own misdeeds such as reported here, as well as cover up up the truth for men such as Charlie Sheen for a price on top of their other sins - http://www.cnbc.com/2015/11/17/how-did-charlie-sheen-keep-his-hiv-a-secret-for-4-years-commentary.html and who are then trying to not only either shut down our meetings to silence these victims from speaking to anyone about what happened to them, but further trying to get "infiltrators" into our groups to pull things on us like were pulled on Planned Parenthood, and ACORN, two incidents by the same people who have also been trying to "infiltrate" our program for probably the same purposes, http://www.centerformedicalprogress.org/cmp/investigative-footage/

Well then we have a serious problem.  A problem so serious our program has shut down all local meetings because our secretaries, or those who were leading these weekly meetings, were reporting to us not only being stalked, threatened, harassed, etc., but further having to deal with entirely "faux" meetings which were claiming to be our program but in reality couldn't have been farther from the truth such as Project Rose to name but one of the 11 groups which were running for a while in the USA while we were being told we should "enjoy the press" they were generating for our program.

Press like how women of color, especially those too poor to have a car to drive, were being thrown into police cars, interrogated without an attorney present, threatened into things such as being deported and/or thown into jail, http://www.vice.com/read/in-arizona-project-rose-is-arresting-sex-workers-to-save-them if they didn't then agree to be driven in a police car and handcuffs to a church where they were then forced under threat of being "5150'd" or locked up a in a psychiatric hospital against their will (so of course they'd lose custody of their children) agree to counseling by an unlicensed social worker operating through an unlicensed counseling center (who were both unlicensed because they couldn't meet guidelines to be licensed nor to accept Medicaid payments for their actions) of a highly religious "tone".

Whereby as part of this "program" they were then told they were attending 12 step meetings called by our name, and represented to be our program, but bore no resemblance in reality to our program.  For example, just like AA, we don't call for Prohibition nor blame the alcohol for our issues.  Yet these "Prostitutes Anonymous" meetings being held without our knowledge or consent literally behind our backs while denying to our face this was happening  did not even use our "Recovery Guide" because they even changed our very steps around to suit their purposes claiming we were instead "powerless over prostitution" which is not our position.

Of course these "faux" meetings were complete failures, wherein the explanation for why my statements about the program were 180 degrees of separation from what was being presented to the media in such charades as this show put on for NBC http://www.nbcchicago.com/investigations/Jail-Inmates-Start-Prostitutes-Anonymous-Group-277845151.html and Oprah where they actually made Brenda Myers-Powell appear to be the "founder" of the program instead of myself, and how her statements about what this program is about which completely contradict my statements about what the program represents were then classified as my being "unpredictable" rather than admit Brenda not the founder, nor even had any training in how to run one of our meetings as she's never even worked through our steps before to know.

So whenever statements such as Brenda' in papers such as the "Fix" would contradict my statements to the press - again people were just told "well that Jody there is quite mentally unstable you know" as an explanation.  https://www.thefix.com/content/addicted-to-prostitution-60072?page=all  Here Brenda claims our program believes "prostitution is an addictive behavior" but in reality our program does NOT believe "prostitution is an addiction".

How can it be an "addiction" when the vast majority of those within the industry are doing so because of being forced by a pimp, a trafficker, a predator trying to make sure their victim's voice isn't respected because they're "just a whore" (as again seen with the Celeste Guap case), a celebrity such a Snoop Dogg where those caught literally inside of his moving RV are too afraid for their safety to say "no", http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/snoop-lion-opens-up-about-his-pimp-past-20130508, to feed their kids because they can't find a job, their homes were illegally foreclosed upon by predatory banks, even Homeland Security officers are forcing them to do so while the victims clearly don't have a clue where to run to escape?  http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/las-vegas/las-vegas-restaurateur-says-former-fed-manufactured-criminal-case-against-him or they're a 14 year old being forced into porn by two Chicago cops in the very city where Brenda is making these absurd statements. http://www.fox32chicago.com/news/local/33667842-story

I assure you when women who are being forced into acts of prostitution by DEA agents who are working them as illegal aliens while threatening their family back home in Columbia with drug lord's who could make one phone call and wipe their whole family out http://nypost.com/2016/06/01/jury-may-see-texts-about-possible-prostitution-at-dea-agents-strip-club/  (you remember Columbian prostitutes don't you -  http://nypost.com/2014/10/09/secret-service-sex-scandal-investigator-was-asked-to-withhold-evidence/).

Or they have police officers looking the other way while other police officers are driving them to "calls" http://nypost.com/2016/02/02/nypd-cop-ran-tri-state-prostitution-ring-officials-say/ leaving many who truly want to leave prostitution to feel they have no choice but to actually flee the country as we saw in the Eliot Spitzer case - http://gawker.com/oh-look-eliot-spitzer-is-involved-in-another-prostitute-1759391160

I can assure you those calling our hotline anyway are more than happy to leave the sex industry entirely behind once they're provided with help to remove their porn photos from off the internet which make it impossible to be employed  in other professions.  For example, Christy Mack stated she would not "leave the porn industry" after her horrific violent attack upon her by her ex-boyfriend, War Machine.  Now I ask you - what Fortune 500 company would HIRE her ESPECIALLY after all the press about the attack to even answer their phones?

Women like Christy Mack nor even Belle Knox are "addicted" to the sex industry.  Instead they're in situations where the cards are stacked against them simply from leaving it in peace.  When they're homes are being taken from them, their husbands forcing them to do adult films like Linda Lovelace reports her husband forced her at gunpoint to film "Deep Throat" an XXX film which gave me instant world fame as an adult performer, cops, prosecutors, secret service agents, DEA agents, and even Homeland Security as well as the Triad forcing them into prostituion, porn and stripping - where our system is not properly set up to help them escape safely as evidenced by Margo Compton's murder along with her twin daughters when they tried to leave -   http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/When-Jailbirds-Sing-It-was-the-pure-savagery-of-3018647.php then I as the program's founder say while anyone can be addicted to anything certainly - the great majority of our members in the program I founded are instead being trapped into this system by politicians who literally don't want us to leave as again we've seen proven wtih cases like demonstrated by Eliot Spitzer trying to physically stop Svetlana Travis from leaving prostitution, thus his control.

Is it any surprise now in light of the knowledge of what was going on between him and Svetlana why Mr. Spitzer was refusing to even discuss with us our views on the subject of sex trafficking, as well as how to TRULY help these victims escape the cycle of entrapment, during his 2008 well publicized "crack down on sex trafficking" where he claimed 'ending demand" was the answer to this problem?  http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/12/nyregion/12prostitute.html?_r=0  Well that sure proved to be the answer to alcoholism during Prohibition didn't it Mr. Spitzer?   In light of what we know now, this whole charade appears to be more of Eliot trying to make sure Svetlana didn't have any more customers other than him if you ask me.

Which is just all the more illustrative of the problems that are coming to light over and over and over again when the politicians, legislators, and law enforcement who are trying to fight sex trafficking, as they claim, are trying to do so without involving not only a program with a PROVEN track record of helping people get out, and stay out, of the sex industry, for WHATEVER their challenges are preventing them from leaving permanently - but who is the program who started this very movement to have the issue of these people needing help to exit the industry in the first place.

Whereas Bill Wilson created Alcoholics Anonymous to not only help the alcoholic achieve sobriety, but also teach us they were victims of a disease and not people of "weak moral fiber" who needed to be offered treatment instead of jail as previously offered them during Prohibition who tried to deal with their disease through treating them like criminals - identical to how the system's been treating us for a very long time I'd like to add, our program, Sex Workers Anonymous, was the one who stepped up in 1987 and said to the criminal justice system to offer those charged with prostitution the opportunity to come to our program instead of being placed into jail/prison which didn't solve anything.

Prop 57 is being considered right now to offer early release for "non-violent" offenders.  This should include those convicted of prostitution into coming to our program as they were offered in multiple states officially, and informally, starting back in 1987 in Los Angeles, 1989 in Pennsylvania, then Nevada, Arizona, Chicago, and so on until we had just about every major city turning them over to our program as either an alternative to incarceration, diversion, early release, a condition of probation/parole, or to help them re-enter society after being incarcerated or having been in residential treatment for either drugs or psychiatric issues.

However, not only are politicians such as Eliot Spitzer, law enforcement officers such as those we've seen involved in the Celeste Guap case, 'http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2016/06/11/texts-reveal-officers-warned-teen-prostitute-in-oakland-police-department-sex-scandal-about-undercover-operations/ even Homeland Security officers again such as Joohon David Lee, retired officers such as Chris Butler, Chief's of Police such as Doug Gillispie who I watched personally covering up for a sex trafficking operation connected to "Operation Dollhouse" which I see continuing to operate today using police officers who have threatened me repeatedly to "shut up", and prosecutor's such as Stuart Dunnings the III or Heather Weyker http://reason.com/blog/2016/03/04/the-somali-sex-slave-ring-that-wasnt wanting to continue to exclude us from cases because of their obvious misconduct and self-interests that have absolutely nothing to do with helping victims to escape and recover from their plight wanting to continue to act like our program doesn't even exist any longer so they don't have to come up with more lame excuses as to why they're not incorporating us back into the system as we once were before this movement got "hijacked" as confirmed by the very author of the Trafficking Act of 2000, Micheal Horowitz, as he's said has happened to this movement.

But how much more absolute mishandling of victims do we have to endure when our program was pushed out of the way to prevent us from helping Celeste Guap by people who reported the Alameda Prosecutor's office was now "personally helping her case".

Really?  I"m sorry but I don't remember any research projects, nor investigative reporters, coming to validate their office had an effective program to rehabilitate victims such as Celeste who was an adult at the time the story broke as our program has been shown repeatedly to be effective in cases such as hers.

This is further evidenced by the fact I was almost identical to Celeste myself 30 years ago and since 1985 I've been out of sex work, free from drugs, and also crime free myself.  This includes the fact I'd also been commercially and sexually involved with multiple law enforcement, politicians, prosecutor's, judge, etc. myself "back in the day".  '

Moreover proven they don't know what they're doing when Celeste was then flown to a treatment program in Florida who evidently employs security guards who then arrest clients when they have outbursts for whatever reason in early detox as is frequently seen ESPECIALLY in cases where young girls like her have been forced to have sex by men in uniform - even if that "force" was because she knew saying "no" was pointless because the man was an active duty officer while she was a juvenile female from Nicaragua.

I've frankly never heard of patients in detox being arrested for having an altercation with a security guard (of course I've never seen a decent treatment program who employs security guards for early detox but that's another reason why I don't believe this was the right program for her.) let alone then found this person with a $300,000 bail which of course does nothing but cut Celeste off from speaking to the media easily.  It also places her in a position that I also am sadly well aware of - one in police custody where she'd probably being threatened with everything under the kitchen sink to shut her up from everything she knows just as I was held on a $50,000 bail myself in 1984 under my bogus charge of "pimping" for the warehouse I used as " safe house" while I was threatened into silence about what I knew about Iran Contra, the LAPD misconduct which became the basis for the RAMPART case down the road, and even Chuck Barris' front with the "Dating Game" where his show served as a cover to get women out of this country never to be heard from again where they were sold into sex trafficking by a man who has now admitted he was a CIA operative while also doubling as a "top Hollywood producer".

I'm sorry but the prosecutor's office isn't the one properly trained, nor with the track record of helping women like Celeste Guap as our program is which again started the very movement these MEN and women aren't "criminals" but in fact victims of circumstances of varying types who need help to leave the sex industry for reasons ranging from all sorts of things of which sex trafficking is but one of these issues.  Dealing with only sex trafficking in this issue is like saying you're going to help an addict get clean but you're only, and absolutely, only going to deal with the heroin addicts while leaving those doing other drugs like cocaine, opiates, and even marijuana and alcohol unaddressed.  You might get a few off heroin, but you sure won't be helping addicts to get clean and find recovery that's for sure.

Our program has the proven track record of 30 years of success now as evidenced not only by research, investigative reporters, but also clips of interviews with members going back all listed up at www.hightechmadam.com as well as interviews we have in members' own voices at www.leavingtheliferadio.com    We've had Supreme Court cases such as Open Society vs. International Agency now validated we can't continue to be excluded simply because a group of "faith based" organizations don't agree with our views and methods on the subject.  Including that we don't believe most of these people need to be put into year long residential programs like children to be "rehabiliated".  For most, the sooner they're in their own homes with their own keys and supporting themselves outside of other people supporting them and paying their own bills is the better.  It's only for those who are so damaged they need residential care, or who need to be hidden "off the grid" for safety for a while like Margo Compton and her daughter's should have been - not something offered across the board as it's being promoted now where victims are being turned away from help by saying there's "no housing".  This is only something that needs to be addressed in about 10 percent of the cases calliing in for help - not 100 percent across the board.

But we can't continue to operate our meetings to provide the system with things such as early release, and clearing out beds which are needed for more violent offenders, using the money saved for vital things like looking into the repeat of the 1980's HIV/AIDS epidemic hitting sex workers again in this country, as well as as China, Mexico, Korean, Africa and other countries, when our chapter leaders are being threatened again by powerful interests trying to shut us down.  Our members are volunteers and not set up to take this kind of abuse nor should they.  The only reason you're not hearing about this in the media today is because the LGBT community has a handle on this as it's only affecting sex workers mostly right now.  A community which is being notoriously silenced right now for some of the reasons I've outlined above.

So what is going to happen if Prop 57 passes?  You're going to parole prostitutes into houses with sex offenders that include the very men who raped them as children?  Seriously?  No clearly this issue has to have further discussion before our group can either support or oppose this Proposition.  Including a discussion about what the system is going to do about our members' being constantly threatened, stalked and harassed simply for doing things 12 step groups do such as outreach, hold meetings, and go and speak to "newcomers".

LIke abuse issues themselves - we're "as sick as our secrets" and if you don't start including us in discussions at the dinner table these "embarrassing" situations such as the Celeste Guap case, the Secret Service scandal, the DEA owned strip club, the largest fake sex trafficking case, and on and on as the list grows of embarassments, are just going to get bigger and bigger and more frequent" like as what happens when people keep trying to just ignore the plight of these victims as is being done as I speak, especially with Prop 57.
