SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA SEX TRAFFICKING TASK FORCE

I’m trying to find out who I can talk to about this - http://jezebel.com/strippers-sue-san-diego-cops-after-demeaning-club-ins-1551816922

My name is Jody Williams.  I’m the founder of www.sexworkersanonymous.com  I also have been training police officers since 1987 when we started on ways to build relationships within the sex industry so as to be able to help these women leave, or report where they see sex trafficking.  Down in San Diego there is so much trafficking because of being by the border (well you know), that having a good relationship with law enforcement is key.

Now I think it’s great that the police now recognize trafficking is real today (back in the 1980’s we were working just to convince them it was real).  Okay now they know it’s “real” - let’s work on how we can work together to help these victims.

Our members have not been willing to work with law enforcement after I relocated out of California in 1994.  However, I have moved back to the San Fernando Valley because I’m being told by our members of horrific police abuse that’s been building, and that we’re dealing with another HIV outbreak like the 1980’s.  So I’m here and I’m writing to see what I can do to set up a date to come down and meet with you all down there to see how SWA can work with your agencies down there to help these women view the police as “friends” and not enemies.

Thank you.

PS - I got sent this as what's going on in San Diego.  This is not what I meant when I started this movement.  They used to round the women up in "raids" in the 1970's and 80's.  Now they're doing the same but calling it "rescue"?  This is what happens when there's not a spiritual adjustment made in perspective.  http://uaptsd.org/2015/06/12/activists-call-for-stronger-citizen-police-watchdogs-nbc-7-san-diego/

This was the answer I got back on 10/21/15 - http://www.mediafire.com/view/qo34ltd3h7oyead/sandiegoemail.pdf

UPDATE:  I found this.  I wonder if this might be why San Diego's Human Trafficking Task Force hasn't answered my email yet - https://kpbs.media.clients.ellingtoncms.com/news/documents/2013/08/06/Gloria_Allred_Statement.pdf

UPDATE:  10/24/15 - I think I'm getting an idea why no one jumped to respond to my request for information with respect to the sex trafficking down down

And they wonder why trafficking victims don't want to call the police for help!
